Regarding the matter of speeding through Cropredy, responses sorted by post code showed that two key areas suffer from speeding: The Green (64%) and Plantation/ Station Road area (89%).
Of the choice of measures to reduce traffic problems
and speeding suggested in the survey, illuminated signs received most support
(32%), followed by radar traps (20%) and restricted parking (18%). Although
this question focussed on speeding, the largest number of unprompted responses
referred to the problems caused by parking at the school (21 of 80 responses).
The second most popular unprompted suggestion was for a 20 mph speed limit through
the village (11 responses).
Post code-sorted responses regarding parking problems showed that residents
in three areas believe parking to be a problem: The Green (60% of residents
in that area), Red Lion Street (84%); and Station Road (52%). When given some
options of areas that needed additional parking facilities, the majority of
respondents said that more parking is needed at the school (59%), followed by
the village hall (39%), and the shop (27%).The majority of respondents (55%) said they would use
a footpath running from Cropredy to Great Bourton and the most popular uses
cited were leisure/pleasure/exercise (37 mentions of 127), followed by safety
aspects (25 mentions) and visiting family and friends (19 mentions).
On the subject of a more frequent bus service to Banbury,
47% of respondents said they would use it.
